Are you passionate about helping others and making a real difference in your community’s health? As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA), you'll be essential in offering compassionate care and support to patients at University Hospitals.

Day-to-day tasks include performing basic patient care activities as delegated by the RN, such as ADLs, vital signs, I&O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture where applicable. You will also assist with patient data collection and maintain the patient record.

Requirements

Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Ability to perform patient care tasks including ADLs, vital signs, and 12-lead ECG.
Familiarity with using patient assistive devices such as wheelchairs and EKG equipment.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assists in implementing the established plan of care.
Demonstrates compassion in all interactions with patients, families, and peers.
Follows established evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes.
Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on the unit.
Facilitates stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care.
Assists with unit communication and maintains efficient operations.
Acts as a key resource for onboarding and training new team members.
Maintains patient records in written and electronic format and assists with data collection.
