Legacy Health is seeking an RN Staff Nurse to join the Open Heart Team at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland. Our nursing philosophy focuses on patients and their families, and our nurses embody this as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers.

In this role, you will assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the cardiovascular OR, following established patient care standards. You will work across 3 CVOR suites performing both adult and pediatric procedures, with primary circulating duties and scrub experience preferred.

Legacy Emanuel is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Regional Burn Center, serving as a local and regional leader in serious clinical illness and injury. The team includes experts in trauma, heart care, burns, stroke, brain surgery, and more, with 19 ORs/procedure suites averaging 50 cases per day.

New construction on the Emanuel West tower includes brand new operating rooms, PACU, and Central Sterile areas, reflecting our commitment to growth and innovation. Relocation assistance is available to nurses new to Legacy Health.

Requirements

Current applicable state RN license required
AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Cardiovascular OR experience preferred
Primary circulating duties but scrub experience preferred
Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community
Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions
BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System
Perform primary circulating duties in the cardiovascular OR for both adult and pediatric procedures
Participate as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee
Take required call with $15/hr standby pay
Serve as an advocate, communicator, problem-solver, and caregiver for patients and their families
Contribute to patient assessment and transfer according to Legacy Health System standards
