You report to the Plasma Center Manager to support plasma center operations. Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Work under guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or manufacturing environment. Provide center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow procedures for medical emergencies. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
  • Evaluate donor reaction(s) at the facility as outlined in the SOPs
  • Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings to donors or guidance on medical or technical issues
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats
