About this role

The Triage Nurse delivers high-quality nursing care under the direction of a supervising provider or clinical team. This role ensures patient and family needs are effectively met by collecting and analyzing data for assessment and care planning. Duties include triaging patients, managing telephone communications, and reviewing medical documentation.

Day-to-day tasks involve performing real-time clinical assessments and EMR documentation during visits. Support providers with in-room needs such as vitals, ECGs, patient positioning, and assisting with procedures. Escort patients to and from rooms and assist with mobility as needed.

Prepare and stock exam rooms before and during clinic. Participate in teamwork and communicate effectively and respectfully with other departments. Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and computer/electronic medical record systems skills.

Assist with emergency responses like calling 911 or using AED. Monitor clinic pace and communicate delays or issues to the care team or nurses station. Align care delivery with established plans, office policies, MIPS guidelines, and process medication refill requests.

Requirements

  • Holds/maintains active CMA license or active LPN license in Georgia
  • Holds/maintains current MA certification
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency with computer/electronic medical record systems skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients as delegated by assigned supervisor and/or provider
  • Triage patients
  • Perform real-time clinical assessments and EMR documentation during visits
  • Communicate internally and externally through telephone encounters and actions
  • Support providers with in-room needs including vitals, ECGs, patient positioning, and assisting with procedures
  • Escort patients to and from rooms and assist with mobility as needed
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms before and during clinic
  • Assist with emergency responses (e.g., calling 911, using AED)
