About this role

As a Wound Care RN at our new 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital opening in August 2026 in Galloway, New Jersey, you will establish a leadership role in the wound care program across the hospital and programs in partnership with Select Medical wound care experts. You will develop and deploy evidence-based clinical protocols and algorithms to support the best clinical outcomes for wound management.

Day-to-day, you will analyze patterns of wounds across programs, identify targeted performance improvement activities, and collaborate with medical leadership on wound care initiatives and research questions. You will also develop educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team led by a physiatrist and including rehabilitation nurses, physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists, dietitians, case managers, and other clinical and support staff. The hospital is dedicated to addressing the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

Requirements

  • Valid registered nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Wound care certification (e.g., CWCN, WOCN) preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing evidence-based clinical protocols for wound management.
  • Strong analytical skills to track wound outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to develop and deliver educational modules for clinical staff and patients/families.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a leadership role in the wound care program, establishing standards of care across the hospitals and programs in collaboration with Select Medical wound care experts.
  • Develop and deploy evidence-based clinical protocols and algorithms to support the best clinical outcomes for wound management, including developing and updating the product formulary.
  • Establish competencies for clinicians regarding wound care.
  • Collaborate with Medical leadership on wound care initiatives, research questions, and outcome measures to support program innovation and excellence.
  • Develop educational modules for wound care for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.
  • Analyze patterns of wounds across programs and hospitals, and identify targeted performance improvement activities to improve wound outcomes and mitigate pressure sore development.
  • Coordinate competency evaluation and testing for professional staff in collaboration with clinical departments.
  • Maintain the database to track staff education, competency, and credentials, and utilize it to evaluate and plan for future educational activities.
