About this role

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (CNS/NP) provides direct service to patients of Advocates Behavioral Health Division. This role also involves consulting with staff on treatment plans, clinical problems, and related issues.
Daily responsibilities include delivering medical and psychiatric services to patients. The CNS/NP offers teaching and consultation to multidisciplinary team members. Active participation in the Quality Improvement process ensures high standards of care.
Maintain all records according to policies and procedures of Advocates Behavioral Health Division. Practice aligns with the treatment philosophy of the division. Foster open, collaborative, and collegial relationships with team members.

Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited nursing program
- Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
- Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing Authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification
- Current, valid, and unrestricted DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registrations
- Preference for eligibility or current authorization for independent prescriptive practice per MA 244 CMR 4.00
Responsibilities
- Provide medical and psychiatric service and consultation to patients of Advocates Behavioral Health Division
- Provide teaching and consultation to other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Actively participate in the Quality Improvement process of Advocates Behavioral Health Division
- Maintain all records in accordance with policies and procedures
- Practice in general accordance with the treatment philosophy of Advocates Behavioral Health Division
- Maintain open, collaborative, and collegial relationships with other team members
- Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings
