Provide direct client care including administration of medications and supervising nursing activities by professional and para-professional personnel. Order, prepare, administer, and document medications according to physicians’ orders. Confirm delivery of ordered medications from the pharmacy on shift worked.
Work in the Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center, a voluntary 24/7 unlocked setting with stays up to 23 hours. Offer rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention for all ages, from children to older adults. Support safe transitions to the next level of care or community.
Access on-the-job training with paid CEU opportunities and career development programs. Receive supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals where applicable. Thrive in a culture of employee recognition and rewards for dedication.
Requirements
- Must have attained the age of 18 years
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required
- Associate degree, preferred
- One (1) year of service experience treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting, preferred
- One (1) year of medication administration experience required
- Valid California LVN or LPT license
- Current CPR certification
- First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including the American Red Cross
Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care including administration of medications and supervising nursing activities performed by professional and para-professional nursing personnel
- Order, prepare, administer, and document the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ orders
- Confirm delivery of all ordered medication from the pharmacy on shift worked
- Communicate pertinent information verbally and in writing to all team members
- Write a weekly summary on the client as assigned
- Monitor and maintain appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for the shift worked
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned
