About this role

The Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care. Plans for, leads, coordinates, and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients. Ensures procurement of appropriate supplies, equipment, and adequate staff mix to deliver nursing care.

Demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility, and teamwork. Provides leadership, consultation, and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment. Oversees daily operations to maintain high standards in the Surgical ICU.

Collaborates with administrators and health care team members to design, evaluate, and improve patient care systems and processes. Integrates multidisciplinary treatments for optimal patient care in acute settings. Fosters patient-and family-centered practice with cultural awareness.

Supports nursing professional development, Magnet, and Shared Governance through participation in councils and mentoring colleagues. Engages in the Clinical Ladder program to promote growth. Contributes to a teaching environment focused on excellence.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing
  • Acute care experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management potential
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse (PA)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
  • Specialty/leadership certification within 2 years of hire
  • Knowledge of effective communication, patient safety, and care coordination
