The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Vision is “A world where all kids thrive”. This cornerstone of Melbourne Children’s Campus seeks a self-motivated, dynamic Registered Anaesthetic/Recovery Nurse. The role splits equally between Recovery and Anaesthetics, providing skilled assistance and post-anaesthetic care to paediatric patients.
Assist medical staff in the safe administration of anaesthesia or sedation per PS08 2012 (ANZCA) Recommendations on the Assistant for the Anaesthetist. Deliver post-anaesthetic care ensuring best outcomes for critically ill young patients from Victoria and beyond. Maintain and check all anaesthesia equipment for availability and safety.

Requirements
- Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or speciality area of nursing
- Previous experience in Recovery/PACU and/or Paediatrics
- Post Graduate studies in Recovery/PACU
- Evidence of ongoing Professional development
- Paediatric Anaesthetic experience including Post Graduate qualification in Anaesthesia
- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled assistance to medical staff for the safe administration of anaesthesia or sedation as specified in PS08 2012 (ANZCA)
- Deliver post anaesthetic care to paediatric patients
- Ensure all equipment pertaining to the administration of anaesthesia is correctly maintained, checked and available for use
- Work in partnership with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Colleagues to ensure best outcomes for patients
- Assist in paediatric anaesthesia procedures including induction and emergence
- Monitor vital signs and recovery progress in PACU for young patients
