About this role
This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes while exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions.
Effectively delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members in the delivery of care. The position maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department strategic goals and objectives while supporting the company's philosophy of nursing.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail-oriented are essential in this fast-paced environment. Good time management, interpersonal leadership and delegation skills enable the nurse to demonstrate sound judgement and supervise others effectively.
Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications supports the evaluation of data and promotion of change to achieve optimal outcomes. The role adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication methods.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to be detail-oriented.
- Good time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-directed.
- Good interpersonal, leadership and delegation skills with ability to demonstrate good judgement and supervise or manage others.
- Proficiency in using computers, software and web-based applications.
Responsibilities

- Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
