About this role

This RN Staff Nurse I role is based in a fast-paced, highly specialized outpatient clinic supporting advanced reconstructive, cosmetic, and limb salvage procedures for both adult and pediatric patients. The position offers exposure to a wide variety of complex and rewarding cases in a high-volume setting.

In this role, you will assist with coordination and delivery of patient care, ensuring efficient clinic flow while providing direct support throughout the surgical journey. Daily tasks include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, administering medications, and monitoring patient status.

You will work alongside expert surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers in a collaborative, high-volume clinical environment where some locations see up to 130 patients per day. The patient population spans head-to-toe reconstruction, cosmetic procedures, pediatric facial and nerve injuries, and breast reconstruction and limb salvage.

This is an outpatient-only role with no inpatient responsibilities, and it requires travel between multiple clinic locations. The position provides opportunities to participate in educational programs and staff meetings to maintain required skills and competencies.

Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Registered Nurse license in Illinois or Missouri (or ability to obtain prior to start).
No specific work experience required; this is an entry-level staff nurse position.
Ability to travel between multiple clinic locations within the region.
Comfort working in a patient care setting with exposure to blood-borne pathogens and use of protective devices.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a plan of patient care.
Provide patient care including administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
Provide appropriate counsel and education to patients and families regarding disease process and symptom management.
Maintain medical records with appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
Consult with members of the health care team and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Assist the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and other direct patient care processes.
Maintain required skills and competencies and participate in educational programs, staff meetings, and in-services such as CPR as required.
