About this role
The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Vision is “A world where all kids thrive”. RCH provides a full range of paediatric and adolescent health services, including tertiary and quaternary care for critically ill patients across Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and beyond. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, 12 wards, 350 beds, 300,000+ specialist clinic appointments, 90,000+ emergency presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries annually.
This full-time ongoing position (76 hours per fortnight) is split equally between Recovery and Anaesthetics. Provide skilled assistance to medical staff for the safe administration of anaesthesia or sedation as specified in PS08 2012 (ANZCA). Deliver post anaesthetic care to paediatric patients while ensuring all equipment is correctly maintained, checked and available for use.
Work in partnership with Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Colleagues to ensure best outcomes for patients. Requirements
- Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or speciality area of nursing
- Previous experience in Recovery/PACU and/or Paediatrics highly regarded
- Post Graduate studies in Recovery/PACU highly desirable
- Evidence of ongoing Professional development
- Paediatric Anaesthetic experience including Post Graduate qualification in Anaesthesia required
Responsibilities
