About this role

The Staff Nurse II/III works under the supervision of the Director in the Emergency Department. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care according to departmental policies, procedures, and Nurse Practice Act. Accepts responsibility for directing co-workers in implementing the plan of care.

Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately. Develops a plan of care based on assessment, age-appropriate, and developmental needs. Collaborates with physicians and health team members while providing, delegating, and coordinating the plan of care.

Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning and patient/family teaching. Utilizes positive communication skills for conflict resolution and teamwork. May work on other nursing units based on staff and patient distribution.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age-appropriate care on the unit. Acts as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned. Participates in in-services, committees, performance improvement, and departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science in nursing (ASN) required, BSN preferred
  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards
  • Twelve (12) or more months of service as a registered nurse in an acute care setting
  • Successfully complete a Pharmacology and EKG Test
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  • Utilizes positive communication skills

  • Hourly rate: $73.62 - $89.49
  • Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $3.00
  • Hourly Night Shift Differential: $6.00
