In the Surgical Services department, you will care for patients across both outpatient and inpatient surgical areas, including 30 outpatient beds and 32 private inpatient beds. Your primary patient population includes elective, urgent, and emergent surgical cases spanning orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT, vascular, plastics, neurosurgery, wound debridement, pain management, cath lab, and endoscopy.

As an RN Staff Nurse, you will assess, analyze, plan, implement and evaluate patient care following established standards for Legacy Health System. Your expertise will be sought after and respected by our health care team, and you will be the face of wellness at Legacy.

This position offers the opportunity to cross-train to both inpatient and outpatient surgical areas, with orientation and education provided to ensure appropriate training. You will be part of a team that values innovation in joint replacement, robotic surgery, cancer care, and more.

Requirements

  • Current applicable state RN license required
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program
  • Acute care experience with surgical/post procedural background preferred
  • Pediatric background helpful, but not required
  • Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions

Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyze, plan, implement and evaluate patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System
  • Participate as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee
  • Provide care for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical cases including orthopedic, general surgery, gynecological, urology, ENT, vascular, plastics, neurosurgery, wound debridement, pain management, cath lab, and endoscopy
  • Cross-train to both inpatient and outpatient surgical areas and maintain competency to care for patients in both settings
  • Take call in the outpatient setting with a 45-minute response time as required by unit expectations
  • Rotate holidays and weekends with varied shift start times
