Requirements
- Prior ICU experience required
- Cardiac surgery, heart transplant, VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, ECMO experience preferred
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse required
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
- Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
- Observational skills and ability to set priorities
- Ability to function under stress
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
- Demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
- Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
- Manage care for cardiac surgery patients including post-operative monitoring
- Handle advanced therapies such as VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
- Prioritize patient needs under stress in a high-acuity ICU setting
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary team for heart transplant and complex cardiac cases
