Requirements

  • Prior ICU experience required
  • Cardiac surgery, heart transplant, VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, ECMO experience preferred
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Observational skills and ability to set priorities
  • Ability to function under stress

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
  • Demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
  • Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
  • Manage care for cardiac surgery patients including post-operative monitoring
  • Handle advanced therapies such as VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
  • Prioritize patient needs under stress in a high-acuity ICU setting
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team for heart transplant and complex cardiac cases
