Requirements

Prior ICU experience required
Cardiac surgery, heart transplant, VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, ECMO experience preferred
Massachusetts Registered Nurse required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
Evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
Observational skills and ability to set priorities
Ability to function under stress

Responsibilities

Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
Demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
Manage care for cardiac surgery patients including post-operative monitoring
Handle advanced therapies such as VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
Prioritize patient needs under stress in a high-acuity ICU setting
Coordinate with multidisciplinary team for heart transplant and complex cardiac cases
