Requirements

  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; experience in lieu accepted
  • Prior ICU experience required
  • Cardiac surgery, heart transplant, VAD, CVVH, IABP, Impella, ECMO experience preferred
  • Evidence of basic analytic thinking to care for a group of patients
  • Observational skills and ability to set priorities
  • Ability to function under stress with interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
  • Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs
  • Manage post-cardiac surgery patients including heart transplant and VAD cases
  • Monitor and support patients on CVVH, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
  • Set priorities and function under stress in the Cardiac Surgery ICU
