About this role

Compass Palliative Care, a leading California-based palliative care provider, is seeking outstanding Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with experience or interest in palliative care. This role provides palliative services in the hospital setting in the Long Beach area.

This is a Monday through Friday, part-time position with flexible hours. The practitioner will be assigned a specific patient load for which they will be responsible, assessing patients and providing palliative care to best treat each individual.

Our palliative program is run by experienced, board-certified physicians who take pride in providing training and in-service education to their staff. They believe in the advancement of their staff as well as creating the best possible outcomes for the patients they serve.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team focused on improving patient and family quality of life through expert symptom management and compassionate support.

Requirements

Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in California
Experience and/or interest in palliative care
Ability to manage a specific patient load independently
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Proficiency in documenting patient findings and treatment plans
Commitment to patient and family-centered care

Responsibilities

Assess patients and provide palliative care to best treat the patient
Define and document patient diagnoses
Assure all patients are completely satisfied with their care
Provide patient and family education and management
Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart, including follow-up notes
Actively participate in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals
