About this role

Priory Hospital Barnt Green offers acute mental health and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) services for 23 males and females. This full-time night shift role is based on the PICU ward and requires a Mental Health Nurse with 6-12 months post registration experience.

You will join the team on the PICU unit working nights only. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

Requirements

Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) along with Mental Health.
Have knowledge of NMC guidelines, requests and professional practices.
Provide evidence of post registration continuing professional development.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
Have 6-12 months post registration experience (this role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses).

Responsibilities

Join the team on the PICU unit working nights only.
Play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans.
Ensure dignity, respect, and high standards of care for all patients.
Conduct regular observations and monitoring of patients' mental and physical state through the night.
Administer and manage medications according to prescribed treatment plans.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patient progress and discharge planning.
