About this role

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants licensed in Oregon to provide direct care within our contracted Skilled Nursing Facilities. Our team specializes in comprehensive behavioral health services for adults and geriatrics across multiple settings.

Providers deliver face-to-face psychiatric services, assessing mental status and diagnosing DSM-V disorders while developing individualized treatment plans. Daily work involves applying medical decision-making skills for psychopharmacology and non-pharmacological options, with opportunities to staff clinical cases alongside psychiatrists.

BHS fosters a collaborative culture with hands-on leadership and an open-door policy. Our clinicians work in service areas including Portland and Hillsboro, supported by remote and on-site training and supervision within a teamwork-oriented environment.

This role offers a flexible schedule and a billable hourly compensation model that eliminates waiting on reimbursements. Providers benefit from scribe assistance, administrative code compensation for progress notes, and a comprehensive benefits package including a 401k plan.

Requirements

  • Licensed in Oregon by the Board of Nursing in good standing with a focus in psychiatry.
  • Licensed by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances (DEA).
  • Possession of Malpractice Insurance if Independent Contractor (provided for W2 employees).
  • 1 year of Geri Psych Experience.
  • 1 year providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR Systems (Athena a plus).
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients directly in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
  • Assess patient's mental status based on symptoms.
  • Appropriately diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans.
  • Apply medical decision-making skills for mental health issues including psychopharmacology options and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists.
