About this role
American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S., providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our state-of-the-art centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine.
As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will care for patients within the scope of training and approved agreement, as outlined by your governing board. You will work collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a high level of patient satisfaction.
Each location is equipped with an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability, allowing you to perform complete health histories, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order appropriate diagnostic studies. You will also institute emergency measures and treatment in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, and allergic reactions.

Requirements
- ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified (with 1 year ER/UC experience preferred)
- Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice
- Active DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
- Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Able to multi-task and work independently
Responsibilities
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, and develop comprehensive medical assessments
- Order laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint, race, sex, and physical condition of the patient
- Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate health care facilities, agencies, and community resources
- Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions
- Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, patient management, and treatment
- Provide instructions and guidance regarding health care and health care promotion to patients, family, and significant others
- Work collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a high level of patient satisfaction
