About this role
Liberty Resources Integrated Health Care, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in Syracuse, is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its Integrated Health Care Team. This role serves children, families, and adults facing behavioral health challenges, including co-occurring substance abuse.
In collaboration with the agency Medical Director, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide a full range of nursing and medical services to clients. Daily work includes performing interviews, health histories, mental status assessments, and diagnostic tests to determine diagnosis and current mental health status.
The role involves managing clients' medication regimens, prescribing drugs and psychotropic treatments as indicated by diagnosis and lab results, and providing medical crisis intervention and counseling. The practitioner will also complete evaluations, medication reviews, care plans, and progress reports while offering medication education to clients and families.

Requirements
- A certificate and current registration to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State
- At least one year of experience providing direct services in a clinical setting to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, or comparable experience preferred; recent graduates will be considered
- Substance abuse experience preferred; willingness to prescribe Suboxone
- Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs
- Valid New York State driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Responsibilities
- Perform interviews, health histories, mental status assessments, and diagnostic tests to determine diagnosis and current mental health status of clients
- Provide medical crisis intervention and counseling as required by direct visitation or telephone contact
- Complete evaluations, medication reviews, care plans, reviews, and progress reports
- Participate in the management of clients' medication regimens; prescribe drugs and psychotropic medication treatments as indicated by diagnosis and lab results
- Provide psychiatric assessments, complex care management, and medication education to clients and families
- Function as a member of the Integrated Health Care Team in assisting with a full range of nursing and medical services for clients
