Brightline

Albany, US · Full-time · $116,000 – $140,000

About this role

Welcome to Brightline! We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our care team. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists, coaches, and prescribers to deliver thoughtful, high-quality psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and their families.

This hybrid role requires in-person care at least three days per week at our Albany clinic. It is not a high-volume practice; instead, use a structured three-part diagnostic series and conduct 30-minute medication management visits for real clinical relationship-building.

Report directly to the Medical Director with support from the Chief Medical Officer. Receive weekly individual supervision and team-based group supervision to support clinician development and clinical quality. Collaborate closely with therapists, psychologists, and coaches for coordinated, holistic care.

Maintain documentation using AI-assisted tools like an AI scribe. Engage with evolving technology including telehealth platforms and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Apply trauma-informed, equity-centered practices in all interactions.

Requirements

  • PMHNP-BC board certification
  • Active Nurse Practitioner licensure with prescriptive authority
  • DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances including stimulants
  • Experience in pediatric and adolescent psychiatric evaluations
  • Proficiency in biopsychosocial assessments and risk evaluation for suicidality and safety
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed, equity-centered, and culturally responsive practices
  • Ability to manage psychiatric medications per evidence-based guidelines
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary mental health team collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive three-part diagnostic evaluations including separate sessions with caregivers, the child or adolescent, and a feedback session
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management via 30-minute follow-up visits using psychotherapy add-on codes
  • Complete thorough biopsychosocial intake evaluations incorporating psychiatric history, medical history, and family systems
  • Conduct risk assessments related to suicidality, self-harm, harm to others, abuse, neglect, and safety concerns
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications including stimulants and other controlled substances per evidence-based guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, psychologists, coaches, and non-clinical team members for holistic care
  • Participate in case consultations, treatment planning discussions, and team meetings
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record using AI-assisted tools
