About this role

MySpectrum Counseling & Coaching is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team through the provision of Telehealth. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an outpatient mental health practice, as well as experience providing Telehealth to a variety of clients with a variety of mental health needs. Duties are performed using a HIPAA compliant web-based platform.

This person is responsible for assessing patient need for medication, prescribing medication, medication management and monitoring, recording client progress, and educating patient and families as needed. Complete intake assessments for new clients referred and progress notes for every session in EHR. Send prescriptions electronically to pharmacy and monitor psychiatric stability.

Request labs when needed, monitor medical needs of clients and make appropriate referrals for in-person assessment. Collaborate with Therapists as appropriate and communicate with administrative team to ensure smooth and timely client care. Experience working with other professionals to ensure best practice.

Requirements

Current Virginia Board of Nursing and Virginia Board of Medicine license to practice independently as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority
Current DEA registration
Examine, evaluate, diagnose and treat psychiatric and mental illnesses
Experience working with other professionals to ensure best practice
Skilled in the use of technology, software, and resources to assist in daily medical responsibilities
Experience in documenting in the medical record and interacting with patients regarding clinical concerns
Experience working in an outpatient mental health practice
Experience providing Telehealth

Responsibilities
