Through the nursing process, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and documents the effects of care. They work cooperatively with ancillary and nursing staff to maintain professional standards. Care is provided according to the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy.

The role includes managing daily operations within budget parameters and assisting with management functions. The RN participates in unit-based performance improvement and staff education activities. They also provide input to annual performance reviews of assigned staff.

Professional development is encouraged through active participation in in-services and continuing education programs. The RN maintains responsibility for their own growth and serves as a role model. This position offers the opportunity to make a difference in the community.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania as per Nurse Practice Act.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Knowledge of procedures performed in urgent care setting.
  • Ability to assist physician as indicated.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential nursing functions.
  • Must meet physical and sensory requirements: ability to stand up to 8 hours, lift up to 75 lbs, transport patients up to 400 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide essential medical care to urgent care patients and occupational health patients.
  • Assist physician as indicated during procedures.
  • Implement, evaluate, and document patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with care plan.
  • Formulate collaborative plans of care and identify expected patient outcomes.
  • Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care consistently utilizing available resources.
  • Take active role in unit-based Performance Improvement and staff education activities.
