About this role

Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in the Emergency Services department. This Staff Nurse II position at ABSMC-Summit Campus provides direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.

Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. This role requires working night shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and support staff to promote an optimal patient experience. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations. The position may involve handling hazardous drugs as per NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines.

The position offers a short hour schedule of 16 hours per week, with night shifts and every other weekend required. Pay range is $79.67 to $107.79 per hour based on experience and location, with a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Required).
  • Minimum one year current experience in area of specialty (Required).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of employment (Required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Required).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (Preferred upon hire or within 2 weeks of orientation).
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
