About this role

Merakey is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to support our Outpatient Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol program in Coal Township, PA. This role offers a flexible schedule of two days per week, totaling 10-16 hours, Monday through Friday.

The PMHNP will assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities. You will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations and provide medication appointments, prescriptions, and monitoring.

You will work in conjunction with all team members, Merakey internal supports, and inter-agency teams to deliver coordinated care. The role includes providing consultation to staff regarding client care and treatment, as well as submitting service referrals to appropriate departments and agencies.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations
  • Proficiency in medication management and monitoring for psychiatric conditions
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with electronic health records
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide consultation to staff

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations of Merakey clients referred for psychiatric treatment
  • Provide medication appointments, prescriptions, and monitoring
  • Maintain complete, timely, and appropriate documentation in clinical records and electronic health records for clients served
  • Complete all applications and credentialing information for Merakey third party insurance contracts as needed
  • Provide consultation to Merakey staff with regard to client care and treatment
  • Submit service referrals and applications to appropriate departments and agencies such as case management or other additional services needed to support clients
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and continuing education activities to further develop professional skills in psychiatry
