This job works in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff who care for emergency medicine patients across our hospital network. Under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician, you will assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management and emergency stabilization of critically ill patients.

You will be involved in planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care alongside PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators. The role includes teaching residents and medical students, contributing to staff development and education, and leading patient education and discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Medicine or Health Sciences (or graduate of an approved PA training program)
  • Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the state of practice
  • Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified (for NP role)
  • NCCPA Certified (for PA role)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing or Medical Examiners
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages, and keyboard
  • Reliable transportation to travel throughout and between facilities

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff caring for emergency medicine patients
  • Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management and emergency stabilization of all critically ill patients
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical and nursing care
  • Teach residents and medical students in the clinical setting
  • Contribute to staff development and education initiatives
  • Provide patient education and coordinate discharge planning
  • Work under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician
