About this role
This role is with the ADHD Service at the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre (MATC), a provincial program serving children and adolescents aged 6-18 with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and comorbid mental health concerns. As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide treatment services to children and their families in a community-based setting.
Your day-to-day work involves utilizing bio-psychosocial models and systemic frameworks to deliver care that addresses the impact of ADHD and related conditions on clients' home, school, and community environments. You will collaborate closely with other clinical professionals to coordinate and integrate patient-centered services across the province.
The MATC ADHD Service operates on a provincial level, and you will be part of Shared Health, which leads the planning and coordination of clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. This team environment emphasizes a patient-centered approach and adherence to the established philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre.
This position offers the opportunity to specialize in child and adolescent mental health within a supportive, multidisciplinary framework. You will contribute to a vital provincial service while working in a community-based setting that values professional practice and ethical standards outlined by the CPNAM and/or CRNM.
Requirements
- Experience in mental health is essential
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health experience preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with children with a diagnosis of ADHD, neurodevelopmental, tic disorders and/or behavioral disorders
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds is an asset
- Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing (B.Sc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment services to children and their families referred to the ADHD Service at MATC
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to address behavioral, emotional, and comorbid mental health concerns
- Deliver services in a community-based setting using bio-psychosocial models and systemic frameworks
- Support clients aged 6-18 with ADHD, neurodevelopmental disorders, tic disorders, and behavioral disorders
- Coordinate care that impacts clients' home, school, and community environments
- Adhere to the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre’s established philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Uphold standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics outlined by the CPNAM and/or CRNM
