About this role

Neura Health is a nationwide, doctor-led virtual neurology clinic seeking our first Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to build our behavioral health vertical from the ground up. This part-time contract role, requiring a minimum of 8 clinical hours per week, offers significant growth potential as we scale.

You will conduct comprehensive telehealth psychiatric evaluations and treatment planning for our neurology patient population, who frequently present with co-morbid conditions like anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD alongside migraine, epilepsy, and memory disorders. Daily responsibilities include prescribing and managing psychiatric medications while closely monitoring interactions with neurological co-morbidities.

As part of a multidisciplinary care team, you will collaborate with Neura's neurologists, nurse practitioners, and care coaches to deliver integrated, whole-patient care. You will document all encounters in the EMR, participate in case reviews and clinical huddles, and help shape our behavioral health clinical protocols and workflows.

Requirements

Current, unrestricted PMHNP license in at least one U.S. state
Multi-state licensure strongly preferred (the more states licensed in, the greater the impact)
Active certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
Experience in psychiatric medication management for patients with neurological co-morbidities
Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records
Ability to commit a minimum of 8 clinical hours per week with flexibility to scale
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in psychiatry and the intersection of neurology and behavioral health

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive telehealth psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for Neura’s neurology patient population
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects in the context of neurological co-morbidities
Collaborate closely with Neura’s neurologists, nurse practitioners, and care coaches to deliver integrated, whole-patient care
Document all clinical encounters in the EMR accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to Neura’s documentation standards
Participate in care team case reviews, clinical huddles, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Maintain multi-state licensure and practice within your licensed states; actively pursue additional state licensure as the patient panel grows
Dedicate a minimum of 8 clinical hours per week to Neura, with the expectation to scale hours as the behavioral health vertical expands
Help shape and inform Neura’s behavioral health clinical protocols, workflows, and patient experience as our first PMHNP hire
