Legacy Health is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for the Children's Emergency Department at Randall Children's Hospital in Portland. Our nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families, and our nurses embody this as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers.
In this role, you will assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established standards for patient assessment and transfer. Requirements
- Current applicable state RN license required.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- One year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or equivalent.
- Pediatric ED experience strongly preferred; will consider candidates with adult ED experience or strong pediatric experience.
- Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred; BSN may be required for specific assignments.
Responsibilities
- Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established standards for patient assessment and transfer.
- Collaborate with the health care team as a member under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
- Serve as an advocate, communicator, and problem-solver for patients and their families.
- Provide safe, compassionate, family-centered care in the Children's Emergency Department.
- Participate in shared governance to make decisions around staffing, practice changes, and education.
- Incorporate play into patient healing and wellness as appropriate for pediatric patients.
- Document care using electronic systems applicable to the role.
