Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Nursing (Doctoral degree preferred)
  • Active registered nurse license in good standing in Colorado
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in psychiatric mental health specialty
  • Active Colorado APRN license
  • Prescriptive authority for faculty practice (if engaged in faculty practice)

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum planning and evaluation for psychiatric mental health nursing courses
  • Evaluate student learning through grading, coaching, mentoring, and competency assessments
  • Plan courses with teaching team using strategies like lecture, flipped classroom, and case studies
  • Provide clinical supervision including student and preceptor meetings and evaluation of assignments
  • Engage in scholarship using Boyer's model: teaching, discovery, integration, and application
  • Participate in service learning activities with students and serve on school, college, and university committees
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention activities at all levels
