Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS certification from AHA
  • Additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements
  • Professional specialty certifications in accordance with departmental standards or role requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency RN experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess critically ill patients during night shifts
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and life support interventions
  • Manage ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment
  • Respond to codes and emergencies in the ICU
  • Collaborate with night shift physicians and specialists
  • Document patient care and vital signs accurately
  • Titrate vasoactive drips and sedations as ordered
  • Perform bedside procedures like central line care
