In this role, you will provide hands-on care to patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, and standards of care.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a perioperative setting.
- Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care and family-centered partnerships.
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts and participate in on-call rotations.
- Membership in or eligibility for the Committee for Recognition of Nursing Achievement (CRONA) as a represented nurse.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
- Perform all steps of the nursing process: assessing patients, interpreting data, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
- Coordinate care with other providers and teach patients and families the knowledge and skills needed to manage their care and prevent complications.
- Utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment to fully contribute as a member of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
- Partner with the patient's family to deliver family-centered care, considering all aspects of care.
- Monitor the quality of nursing care provided and contribute to the profession through teaching and sharing expertise within the unit or hospital.
- Maintain current knowledge regarding the assigned patient population and ensure compliance with licensure and BLS certification.
