About this role

This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of nursing staff within the Emergency unit at SEHA in Abu Dhabi. The Staff Nurse ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while acting as the first point of contact for clinical issues and escalations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include assigning duties and patient loads based on staff competencies and patient acuity, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring proper documentation in medical records. The nurse also manages admissions, discharges, and patient flow within the unit to maintain efficient operations.

Collaboration is key, as the role involves working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care planning. The Staff Nurse supports and guides nurses in clinical decision-making and best practices, while also handling patient and family concerns professionally and efficiently.

This position offers the opportunity to mentor and train junior nursing staff and newly hired nurses, contributing to the growth of the team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc Nursing)
  • Valid UAE nursing license or eligibility (DOH / DHA / MOH)
  • Minimum 4–6 years of clinical nursing experience
  • At least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in relevant specialty (e.g., ICU, ER, Medical/Surgical, OR, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of clinical standards and patient safety protocols
