About this role
We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic-trained Nurse to join the team at The Avenue in a full-time capacity as Orthopaedic Nurse Navigator. The role acts as a clinical and professional resource person demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise in inpatient and outpatient settings. You will use clinical orthopaedic assessment skills and knowledge of private hospital admission criteria and funding models.
Coordinate and contribute to patient orthopaedic pre-assessments in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and consultants. Strive to meet best practice length of stay requirements to ensure efficient bed management and utilisation. Facilitate community and acute patients into the appropriate treatment whilst ensuring the patient and their carer are fully informed of services and processes.

Requirements
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of three years post registration in speciality area of Orthopaedic nursing or relevant experience in advanced practice
- At least 7 years’ professional experience with high levels of clinical and managerial experience across orthopaedic settings
- Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and initiatives supporting the customer experience
- Understanding of health fund requirements for orthopaedic services
- Proven project management skills with sound organisational and change management skills
- Computer literacy
