About this role

School health nurses work collaboratively with the school support and wellbeing teams in schools and with the Tasmanian Health Service. The role focuses on supporting students through clinical assessment and health promotion within the school setting.

Provide clinical assessment, screening and support to individuals and groups. Undertake early detection activities and provide supported referrals for students in the school and college environment while participating in health promotion initiatives.

The position involves close coordination with school wellbeing teams and the Tasmanian Health Service. This collaborative approach ensures students receive timely screening, referrals and ongoing health support across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with registration Status – Employment
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Relevant post-graduate health qualification or other post graduate Paediatric qualification

Responsibilities
