About this role

Surgical Affiliates Management Group is excited to invite a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) program. This position is based at The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus, a 500-bed Level III Trauma Center in El Paso, TX. Join our team of professionals providing top-tier trauma and emergency surgical care to the community.

As a crucial member of the Trauma/ACS team, manage a variety of trauma-related cases and acute care surgery needs. Thrive in high-pressure environments while delivering exceptional patient care without responsibilities of elective surgical procedures. Engage dynamically in trauma activations and inpatient management.

Work in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center handling intense demands of trauma and acute care settings. Build effective communication and rapport with patients and team members. Collaborate with surgeons and staff in a professional, high-stakes environment.

Requirements

  • Active Texas PA or NP license
  • Experience in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery a plus
  • Capable of handling the intense demands of a trauma center and acute care setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Certification in ACLS and ATLS preferred
  • Board certification in acute care for NP or NCCPA for PA

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to trauma and surgical emergencies
  • Manage inpatient care including rounding, and occasionally handle new consults and trauma activations
  • Participate in the post-operative clinic to ensure continuity of care
  • Perform bedside procedures and assist in surgical operations as required
  • Build and maintain effective communication and rapport with patients and team members
  • Respond to trauma activations and conduct initial assessments
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests for acute surgical patients
  • Collaborate with trauma surgeons on operative planning
