About this role

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the physician in the hospital-based inpatient setting. The role focuses on critically ill and injured patients primarily in the ICU or progressive units including trauma, neonatal, inpatient cardiology, emergency room and surgical services.

Responsibilities include performing very invasive procedures that require a high level of independent clinical decision-making. The provider works under direction and in consultation with the supervising physician to deliver care aligned with the physician's normal course of practice.

As part of a High Reliability Organization, the position emphasizes safety, quality and efficiency in all job duties. Practice occurs within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with the Supervision Agreement or Standard Care Arrangement and delineation of privileges.

Requirements

  • Current APRN/PA license from the Ohio Board of Nursing or Medical Board
  • Current certification from a national certifying body such as ANCC or AANP
  • Graduation from an accredited CNP program or Physician Assistant Program
  • BLS Certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
  • Certificate of Authority as CNS and RN license from the Ohio Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the physician in the hospital-based inpatient setting with critically ill and injured patients
  • Perform very invasive procedures requiring a high level of independent clinical decision-making
  • Work under direction and in consultation with the supervising physician to deliver services within the physician's normal course of practice
  • Promote quality outcomes and initiatives across trauma, neonatal, cardiology, emergency and surgical services
  • Maintain a Supervision Agreement or Standard Care Arrangement with a physician in like practice
  • Practice within applicable state laws, appropriate boards and delineation of privileges
