About this role

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, the Registered Nurse provides professional registered nursing services for NICU patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Services include independent nursing, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

Demonstrate commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital while delivering care in the Intensive Care Nursery Unit. Focus on neonates requiring specialized intensive support in a clinical job stream.

Requirements

  • Recent NICU experience preferred or Acute Care experience required
  • Current CRNM registration
  • Successful completion and ongoing renewal of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Bilingualism required (ability to understand and speak English/French)
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred
