About this role

The Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse 3 provides advanced-level nursing care in the assigned nursing unit. Responsible for supporting operational processes, including maintaining high standards of patient care, assisting in resolving complex clinical issues, mentoring intermediate-level nurses, and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient care delivery.

Delivers high-quality nursing care services focusing on complex cases. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care from admission through discharge, specific to the patient's age. Provides patient/family education consistent with the plan of care, respecting privacy, dignity, and culture.

Assists in managing workflow, ensuring proper resource utilization, and providing mentorship to junior nurses. Precepts new hires and trainees during probation, responds promptly to emergency situations using clinical skills and evidence-based practices. Performs a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety, and comfort while maintaining a safe environment.

Contributes to strategic initiatives aimed at improving nursing practices and participates in developing protocols to enhance patient safety and efficiency. Achieves Clinical Advancement Program requirements of a minimum total of 20 points in at least four categories within each 12-month cycle. Supports empowerment of nurses through the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model.

Requirements

  • 3 years International Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a professional Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Minimum 4 years of Nursing Experience including 2 years in Pediatric Intensive Care or related field
  • English: Fully Proficient
  • Arabic: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care services focusing on complex cases
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge specific to the patient's age
  • Provide nursing care, patient/family education consistent with the plan of care and needs of the patients
  • Precept new hires and trainees during the probation training period and participate in recommendations regarding progress and training needs
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and life-saving situations by utilizing clinical skills, critical thinking and evidence-based practices
  • Perform a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort
  • Assist in managing workflow ensuring proper resource utilization and providing mentorship to junior nurses
  • Achieve and/or maintain the mandated set of activities for level 3 in the Clinical Advancement Program
