About this role
The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. As a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, supervises and provides care utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures while applying Cooper core values.
In Cooper University’s 35-bed level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, care for infants as young as 23 weeks gestation. Manage cases requiring surgical interventions and respiratory support from nasal cannula up to high frequency ventilation and nitric oxide. Support infants in smaller pods or transitional nursery preparing for discharge.
Work alongside attending physicians, fellows, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Residents, and a robust ancillary team. Team includes dedicated Respiratory Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists for feeding issues, Unit secretaries, and Child Life Personnel. Neonatal transport team retrieves infants needing higher level care from South Jersey hospitals.

Requirements
- 2 years minimum of RN pediatric critical care experience required
- Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
- Advanced certification for certain specialties (i.e. NALS)
Responsibilities
