The Registered Nurse position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mississauga Hospital is a temporary part-time job share for 11 months. Nurses are responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in provision and management of nursing care for patients. They assess, monitor, and provide care for sick neonates in a Level 2B NICU.

Deliver customer and family focused care with familiarity of hospital, college, and unit policies and procedures. Commit to working co-operatively within the Women’s and Children’s Program. Requirements

  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or meet eligibility for Temporary or General Class
  • NICU Certificate preferred
  • Current or recent experience in NICU
  • Current NRP Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Breastfeeding support experience, breastfeeding courses an asset
  • Ability to think critically and effectively prioritize needs in emergency situations
  • Highly effective decision making, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in the provision and management of nursing care for patients
  • Assess, monitor, and provide care for sick neonates in a Level 2B NICU
  • Apply familiarity with hospital, college, and unit policies, as well as unit procedures
  • Deliver customer and family focused care
  • Work co-operatively within the Women’s and Children’s Program
  • Act as a progressive, innovative, and problem-solving team player supporting Trillium’s vision and W&C Program philosophy
