This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division, one of Abbott's largest nutrition manufacturing plants equipped with advanced technology. In this role, you will provide nursing treatment to ill and/or injured employees, schedule medical appointments, and coordinate return-to-work efforts. You will also conduct initial and periodic physical exams, prepare medical and safety records, and initiate reports related to worker's compensation and OSHA.

You will collaborate with safety and training teams to develop specialized training programs and instruct employees on disease prevention, health, wellness, and fitness topics. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or an equivalent
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience in occupational health or a related clinical setting
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and worker's compensation processes
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all employee medical records
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills for workplace injuries and illnesses

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing treatment to ill and/or injured employees
  • Schedule medical appointments and follow up visits with external medical providers
  • Coordinate return-to-work efforts
  • Conduct initial and periodic physical exams and testing of employees
  • Prepare and maintain medical and safety records, accident investigations, and statistical data
  • Initiate reports as related to worker's compensation and OSHA
  • Instruct, educate, and train employees on disease prevention, health, wellness, and fitness topics
  • Collaborate with safety and training in the development of specialized or mandated training programs
