Under general supervision, you will provide nursing services and health care to Grafton residents, managing health issues and performing a variety of nursing duties associated with monitoring residents’ health and general well-being. You will administer medications, attend to sick or injured clients, and document treatments and medical concerns in client charts.

You will also participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, provide the medical perspective into client care, and conduct in-service staff training on nursing and health issues.

Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a healthcare setting providing direct patient or client care.
- Ability to administer medications and perform nursing procedures safely and accurately.
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
- Ability to work on-call in rotation and respond to urgent nursing needs.
- Experience with electronic health records or client charting systems.
- Ability to train and educate staff on medication administration and health-related topics.
- Willingness to work at multiple Grafton locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manages the health issues and provides nursing care to clients, observing and monitoring client health and documenting treatments and medical concerns in client charts.
- Administers medications, obtains prescribed medications from a pharmacist, monitors medication changes, and observes client reactions to new medications.
- Attends to clients who admit themselves as being sick or injured.
- Assists with psychological reviews and schedules client appointments with health care providers and dentists, attending neurology and specialty appointments as appropriate.
- Contacts parents or legal guardians to discuss client medical issues, status of health conditions, and treatments received.
- Works on-call duty in rotation and promptly responds to calls for immediate nursing services.
- Provides hepatitis B or flu vaccines and PPD testing to Grafton staff, and conducts in-service staff training related to nursing and health issues.
- Serves as back up for nurses in other Grafton locations as needed and participates in facility-wide meetings and committees.
