The Intensive Care Nurse Manager leads operations in the Critical Care ICU at Sherman Hospital. Responsibilities include planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of services to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Assumes 24-hour accountability for assigned areas and divisional coverage as needed.

Daily duties involve establishing staffing requirements, maintaining budgeted productivity, and monitoring patient care quality and satisfaction. Develops policies and procedures aligned with hospital philosophy. Facilitates care delivery using a patient-focused model and supports case management protocols.

Manages budgets by planning annual expenditures, forecasting needs, and justifying variances. Oversees supply utilization and develops equipment purchase proposals. Ensures compliance with federal, state, IDPH standards, and hospital policies.

Recruits, mentors, and evaluates staff while facilitating peer interviews and performance reviews. Assesses educational needs and provides growth opportunities. Leads performance improvement projects and promotes patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Critical care ICU nursing experience
  • Leadership in nursing operations and staffing
  • Budget planning and financial management in healthcare
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including IDPH
  • Staff development and performance evaluation skills
  • Patient safety and quality improvement expertise
  • Case management facilitation experience

Responsibilities
