About this role

The Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse 3 provides advanced-level nursing care in the assigned unit, supporting operational processes including maintaining high standards of patient care, resolving complex clinical issues, mentoring intermediate-level nurses, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team for efficient care delivery.

Daily responsibilities focus on delivering high-quality nursing care for complex neonatal cases, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care from admission through discharge, specific to the patient's age, while providing patient and family education with respect for privacy, dignity, and culture.

Nurses work closely with teams, precepting new hires and trainees, responding promptly to emergencies using clinical skills and evidence-based practices, performing a wide range of procedures with attention to safety, and supporting breastfeeding per Saudi MoH 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.

Strategic contributions include improving nursing practices, developing protocols for patient safety and efficiency, pursuing high staff engagement and patient experience, and supporting nurse empowerment through the JHAH nursing Professional Practice Model.

Opportunities for growth involve achieving Clinical Advancement Program requirements, a minimum of 20 points in at least four categories per 12-month cycle, fostering high-quality care and patient safety in a dynamic NICU environment.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Minimum 4 years of Nursing Experience including 2 years in Neonatal Intensive Care or related field
  • English: Fully Proficient; Arabic: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving the assigned unit's nursing practices
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care services focusing on complex cases
  • Assist in managing workflow ensuring proper resource utilization and providing mentorship to junior nurses
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document patient care from admission through discharge
  • Precept new hires and trainees during probation training period and participate in progress recommendations
  • Respond promptly to emergency and life-saving situations using clinical skills and evidence-based practices
  • Perform a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort
  • Support breastfeeding guided by the Saudi MoH 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding
