Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet the holistic care needs of a designated group of patients in the Women and Infant Services - Postpartum unit. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, educating new mothers on infant care and recovery, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to create individualized care plans. Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.
- Effective communication skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
- Direct patient care experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients.
- Assess and monitor postpartum patients and newborns, including vital signs, pain management, and breastfeeding support.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and infant feeding.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to appropriate providers.
