About this role

This Neonatal Nurse Practitioner opportunity with INTEGRIS Health Children's at Baptist Medical Center places you in a 40-bed unit caring for more than 450 infants each year. You will join a dedicated neonatal team that includes five board-certified neonatologists, NNPs, RNs, respiratory therapists, and social workers, all working under the principle of family-centered care.

In this role, you will provide medical consultation, routine patient care, and follow-up as directed, initiating and completing detailed patient assessments. You will order laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and other diagnostic procedures, then diagnose health problems and plan therapeutic interventions based on your analysis.

Your day-to-day work involves ordering and initiating appropriate medications and treatments, performing routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and venous and arterial blood draws. You will also educate patients regarding prescribed treatments and medications, ensuring population-specific competencies are met.

This position reports to the supervising physician and the Operations Manager of Practice Management, offering the chance to grow within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Requirements

  • Master's degree or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Population-specific competencies required for neonatal care
  • Ability to follow National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate for the level of patient contact

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and completes a detailed patient assessment
  • Orders laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and other routine diagnostic procedures
  • Diagnoses actual or potential health problems based on analysis of collected data and plans therapeutic intervention
  • Orders and initiates appropriate medication, treatment, and consultation based on data analysis
  • Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing (not involving tendons, arteries, or nerves), wound care, and venous and arterial blood draws
  • Manages simple conditions produced by infection, trauma, or other disease processes
  • Educates patients regarding prescribed treatment and medications
  • Reports to the supervising physician and Operations Manager of Practice Management
