This per diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner opportunity is based at Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs. The role involves providing care in a Level III NICU with 24-hour inhouse shifts, offering flexibility for clinicians outside commutable distance with covered travel expenses.
As a NNP, you will manage critically ill neonates and support families in a high-acuity setting. Responsibilities include performing assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with neonatologists and nursing staff to ensure optimal outcomes. The 24-hour shift structure allows for continuity of care.

This per diem position offers a starting hourly pay of $65.00 and includes malpractice insurance with tail coverage. Requirements
- Current APRN National Specialty Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Active Colorado APRN license or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a NNP post clinical rotations.
- Graduate of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in Level III NICU care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting.
- Perform daily assessments, develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with neonatologists.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, adjust therapies as needed based on patient response.
- Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, umbilical line placement, and lumbar punctures.
- Educate and support families regarding their infant's condition, care plan, and discharge needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
- Work 24-hour inhouse shifts at Children's Hospital Colorado to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including nurses, respiratory therapists, and specialists.
