About this role
The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization, responsible for autonomous practice directed by tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist and transferor. They utilize the nursing process to provide evidence-based care. This ensures continuous monitoring and safe passage for NICU patients in the best interest of populations served.
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. Applies critical thinking to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify plans or elevate to the care team. Practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics to advocate for patients and uphold autonomy.
Manages interpersonal relationships and mentors colleagues for advancement of nursing practice. Assumes authority and accountability for patient care, appropriately delegating to care team members per laws and policies. Prioritizes and organizes time to optimize neonatal outcomes in the intensive care nursery.
Actively seeks current evidence and standards, applying them to daily NICU practice while role modeling inquiry. Contributes to research, quality improvement and evidence-based practice. Communicates effectively, precepts students, residents and team members, and partners for positive change.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Certificate required within 6 months of hire date
Responsibilities

- Precept student nurses, nurse residents and other healthcare team members
